ECO4 Scheme
Ends Dec 2026What it covers:
- Insulation (loft, cavity wall, external wall, floor)
- Heating system upgrades
- Renewable energy installations
Worth: Up to £15,000 of free improvements
Eligibility:
Receive qualifying benefits (Universal Credit, Pension Credit, Child Tax Credit, etc.) AND have a low EPC rating (D, E, F, or G).
Warm Homes Plan
Key benefits:
- £7,500 heat pump grants
- 0% interest loans for solar panels
- Fully funded energy efficiency packages for low-income households
Eligibility:
Homeowners and landlords. Income thresholds apply for fully funded packages. Heat pump grants available to all.
Home Upgrade Grant (HUG2)
For homes NOT on the mains gas grid. Covers insulation, low-carbon heating, and solar. Council-administered — availability varies by area.
Eligibility:
Off-gas-grid homes with EPC D or below. Household income below £36,000.
Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS)
£7,500 towards air source heat pumps, £5,000 towards ground source heat pumps. Available until 2028.
Eligibility:
Homeowners with a valid EPC (no loft/cavity recommendations outstanding). Property must not be a new build.
